wish list

Suggestion: I would like to move the photos posted into another order. I am not able to click and drag nor do I see a way of doing this. Would you advise? Many thanks. - Mary Lou Baiker BigBrick response: Thank you for your feedback. This would indeed be a nice feature and unfortunately we do not currently have that functionality built in. At this time you have the ability to select any of your photos to be the primary photo that is displayed in search results, but at this time you cannot re-order the photos once they are uploaded. We will add this to the list for future upgrades along with the ability to rotate photos. Thanks and sorry we don't have a better answer at this time.
Suggestion: First of all, thank you for your great website. Its very nice and clean. I liked the big map and the list idea. I think it would work even better if you keep the big map and have the list of homes underneath. BigBrick response: We really like the idea of combining the map and the list - at some point we would like to keep the map search and list search and add a third "hybrid" option. The programming aspect of is going to take some work to have it work effectively and the way we would like it to, so for now it is going to be on our wish list for the future, but it is good to hear feedback that other people would also like to see that happen.
Suggestion: Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to post open houses. I love your site and your service. Thanks! - Anne BigBrick response: A great suggestion. This is a feature that we definitely want to add. To make it really work well, it needs to have some calendar functionality and quite a bit of additonal work. This unfortunately will have to wait for a future upgrade, but it is a valuable idea that you will eventually see. In the meantime: You can edit your posting as often as you like - so a good way to make sure buyers are aware of upcoming open houses is to change the headline of your posting to include upcoming open houses. (also note that any time you edit your posting, your property returns to the top of search results - this is because we sort search results by most recently updated)

Suggestion: I like the concept of the sign for your web site. I only wish the sign were designed with space to insert the listing number, so mine could read BigBrick .com/4060 Just a thought. - George Guevin BigBrick response: We really liked the idea so we have decided to go ahead and print new signs with a space for the unique property number. The new signs are available using the SIGNS link at the top of every page. I guess we never thought of doing that because the unique web page was a recent feature that we just added and so when we first printed the signs we didnt' even have a unique page for people to point to. Of course, we would still like to say that with or without a unique property number, the signs are very effective because buyers can search properties by map. So if someone drives by your house and sees your sign, as long as they remember the general area of town where they saw it, they should easily be able to locate your property on the map search. That said, it is still a great idea to include the unique property number - why not make it even easier for buyers to get the scoop on your property.
Suggestion: Is there a way you could subscribe to an email about new houses that get added? - Kevin Donnely Suggestion: Would be real helpful to be able to be alerted to specified type listings. - Marsha BigBrick response: Adding a New Property Notification system has been an idea in the back of our minds, but to make it work properly entails a bit of programming, so it stayed just an idea for a while. After a number of requests, we have finally made it happen. Thanks for the requests and you can check it out here: New Property Notification.
| Suggestion: Should have a way for people to POST individual houses on their Facebook page...I'd like to put mine on my page! - Josie Amy Partie Suggestion: Would like to connect to face book and twitter - Teri Cherry BigBrick response: We have added a share link section to the top of every property page so that you can share properties on Facebook, Twitter and many others. This is a great tool for seller to be able to easily post their property to their facebook page etc. Also this tool allows buyers to easily email/share interesting properties. Everybody wins! | Suggestion: Could you make the html available so when I advertise in craigslist your page will be there already opened? BigBrick response: We have added a share link section to the top of every property page so that you can share properties on Facebook, Twitter and many others. This is a great tool for seller to be able to easily post their property to their facebook page etc. Also this tool allows buyers to easily email/share interesting properties. Everybody wins! You will now find this feature at the bottom of your PUBLISH/EDIT page. This is a huge time saver and makes posting your property on craigslist super easy... There is a text box that contains the html for your unique web page. Just click 'select all' and then copy and paste this into your craigslist posting and it will include all your property details and all your photos. |
Suggestion: It would be great if you guys had a template we could use for a professional looking flyer about our homes. A few style/design options would even improve on the template! - Casey Suggestion: We have our home listed on your web site and found the entire process easy & quite beneficial. I think you should offer the Home Seller a layout (flyer) that they can print out instead of having to build one from scratch. You have 80% of it done already, just offer a version that can be copied. You can also cross-promote BigBrick.com on every layout! Tens of thousands of people will see your web site name & think of you when they are ready to list their home. - Mark Metzger BigBrick response: Great idea, we now have a printable flyer. Find the link at the bottom of your PUBLISH/EDIT page. We have started with a basic layout, but for the future we hope to add multiple templates so that users would have a choice of format for the flyer. We will also be adding a virtual flyer for craigslist, facebook etc.
Suggestion: I would like to suggest when posting the information for a condo that you would be given the option to indicate n/a or there would be a blank field to use since there is no acreage. Thanks. BigBrick response: Thank you for that suggestion, that does make a lot of sense. We have implemented that so now "n/a" is an option for Lot Size. Thanks again for taking the time to help us improve.
Suggestion: it would be nice if we could see what kind of activity our home is getting, for example, the total number of hits it has received since inception. - Dave BigBrick response: This is actually a feature that we do already have. There is a counter at the bottom of your PUBLISH/EDIT page that tracks the number of times your specific property has been viewed. If you no longer have your PUBLISH/EDIT email, you can have it re-sent: click here Sorry this information was not more easily found - we did not have this in our FAQ and Help section. Thanks for asking, we have now included this question in our FAQ, so that more sellers will know this feature is available. Update: We have moved the hit counter to the top of your PUBLISH/EDIT page to make it more visible.
Suggestion: I love the page. I do have one comment however. After I put in the page of data it said FINISH to move to step 2. I thought I wasn't going to be able to put in photos but is didn't finish, it went to step 2. Maybe saying move to step two would be better. Thanks for what you do. John BigBrick response: Thanks for your input, we are always looking for ways to improve our site. We made the change you suggested, so now the button says "Step 2 - Upload Photos". I think that your suggestion helps make the site more clear, so thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback.
Suggestion: ... I did sell my house. I tried to remove it from the site myself and just got frustrated. My only feedback would be that- making it easier to edit, remove a posting once it is up. BigBrick response: We have added a link at the top of the contact us page and at the top of the help page that allows you to re-send your PUBLISH/EDIT email so that you can edit or delete your posting. Needing help with editing or deleting is the most common question we are contacted with, so hopefully this is helpful. Any additional suggestions on making this more intuitive would be welcome. And in case anyone was curious - the reason for using the PUBLISH/EDIT email instead of having an account and password was that it seemed to us to be easier and quicker for users posting a property as well as not having to remember another stinking username and password. Of course there are drawbacks as well, but overall we think it keeps the process the most userfriendly.
| Suggestion: I was wondering why when I do a search under the city I listed my home in, it will not come up. Please help, that is not good if someone is searching in Damascus, Or. and cannot find our listing. Thank You. BigBrick response: Thanks for contacting us and very sorry for the problem. The problem was that since we use map based searching, our results are returned based on a radius from the city or zip that is searched. So we have to use a database that gives us a latitude and longitude for every city and zip. The original database we were using was missing a number of smaller cities. What we have done:

Suggestion: How about giving each property its own unique web page with a short and easy url? BigBrick response: So, this wasn't a direct request, but this page is brand new, so we had to get started somewhere. This suggestion came from our observation that people were linking to their BigBrick listing, but were forced to spell it out (ie. view photos on BigBrick, search zip code 97701 and look for...). We had also recieved emails asking how best to direct people to their posting from flyers. So, here is our solution: your property now has a unique page of it's own (in the form of: BigBrick.com/123456). You can find your specific number on your edit page, under the publishing status section. Now when you advertise in other sources that limit your ablility to include photos or description, you can simply reference your personal web page and buyers can easily access your full information.
